Info: We were recently approached by an existing customer to upgrade their domestic intruder alarm from an old PSTN (Public Switch Telephone Network) alarm to a new Wi-Fi connected intruder alarm. PSTN lines are being phased out across the UK and after December 2025 every UK phone line will have to move to a fully digital network that uses Internet Protocol (IP). Therefore, the options for intruder alarms going forward will be Wi-Fi, Sim card or via an external monitoring company. On this occasion we installed a new Wi-Fi connection and once the new intruder alarm had been installed, we helped the customer set the app up on their phone to enable them to set and unset their intruder alarm remotely.
